OJS 3.0 Documentation Draft: Copyediting
This is the fourth in a series of blog posts (here are the first, second, and third) that introduce draft sections of the new OJS 3 documentation, in preparation for the upcoming release later this summer.
This time, we’re looking at the copyediting workflow. Keep an eye out for a couple of major changes in how this new version of OJS works:
1. Adding a Copyeditor: OJS 3 now features a “Participants” box, which quickly shows the editor everyone involved with the submission (except the reviewer in a blind process). Notice how a copyeditor is assigned by adding them to the Participants box.
2. Discussions: Another major new feature in the OJS 3 workflow is the addition of “discussions”. Discussions are an internal mechanism for communication amongst the submission participants, which is tracked and preserved within the submission record. When a new discussion is added, the person receives an email notification that something needs their attention.
Please let us know what you think of the new copyediting workflow and how it works, either in the comments below or in the linked document.
