Save the Date: PKP Spring 2019 Sprint

By Kevin Stranack

We are pleased to announce the next PKP Sprint will be taking place at Simon Fraser University’s Harbour Centre campus in downtown Vancouver on May 6th and 7th, 2019.

PKP sprints run “unconference” style, typically focusing on rapid code development for our open source publishing applications. Small, self-organized teams work together to solve common software issues or make enhancements that benefit everyone.

As good software development also involves requirements gathering – UI (user interface) prototyping, UX (user experience) evaluation, and other non-coding tasks – you don’t need to know PHP or MySQL to contribute to the future of PKP software. To learn more, check out past PKP sprints by searching our blog.

Watch for the Call for Topics, registration, and further details coming soon.

For those attending the Library Publishing Forum, the sprint will be in the preceding two days. For those attending the CARL Advancing Open event, the unconference style of the sprint will allow you to participate in both.

See you in Vancouver May 6th and 7th!
