As a free and open-source (FOSS) community, the Public Knowledge Project relies on strong support from a global community of contributors to strengthen and grow its ongoing maintenance and development. We are grateful for our interest group members, past and present, who dedicate their time and expertise to shape and enhance our work. Interest group members are a valued part of our Membership Program.

As a community-driven, community-supported project, the DIG brought together PKP staff and community members to coordinate the strategic direction as well as the creation, maintenance, and improvement of quality documentation on (1) the practical implementation and use of PKP’s software, (2) and on scholarly publishing, including on ethics, approaches, and trends.
As of 2025, the DIG is now incorporated in the Learning Resources Interest Group (LRIG).
