Migrating Your Content

Already publishing a journal? We can migrate your journal content from a range of platforms and applications.

Already Using OJS

If you already use OJS to publish your journal we provide complete support for migrating your articles, issues, users, and submission history to OJS on our hosting platform.

There is a flat migration fee of $1,000 per installation. The migration fees ensure that your system is transferred securely and completely and any outstanding issues are resolved. A Professional, Enterprise, or Institutional hosting plan is required for this service.

If you are using an older version of OJS, we will upgrade to the newest stable version free of charge as part of the migration process.

Bepress users looking to work with an open source, community-based, non-commercial alternative can have their Digital Commons Bepress content imported to OJS with an import tool developed with the support of University of Minnesota. The cost of migrating from bepress will depend on the amount of content. Contact us to discuss your requirements. A Professional, Enterprise, or Institutional hosting plan is required for this service.
If you’re publishing on another software application or platform, our team may be able to migrate your published articles and issues into OJS with an automated import tool. Structured metadata in a predefined CSV or XML format (i.e. title, abstract, authors, etc.) is required for all articles. A Professional, Enterprise, or Institutional hosting plan is required for this service.
If you have no structured metadata available for your back issue content or if your team prefers to migrate your content independently, there are manual import options in OJS to directly upload articles into the system. Instructions on how to do a manual import with the QuickSubmit plugin are available in our documentation.
