The new German OJS Network, SeDOA, is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), and led by the University and State Library of Darmstadt (ULB Darmstadt), the University Library of Humboldt University of Berlin, and the Max Weber Foundation in Bonn.

OJS Network

The OJS Network brings together the community around Open Journal Systems (OJS), the free and open-source publishing software developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP). The OJS Network creates new opportunities for exchange, connects existing activities, and increases their visibility. The goal is to create synergies and promote the collaborative use of OJS.

The OJS Network supports existing institutional, non-commercial services and initiatives, as well as scholars and researchers, in exchanging ideas and mutually strengthening and promoting each other. With its focus on OJS, the OJS Network is aimed at those involved in institutional publishing (the community of practice) who use OJS in their work or are actively involved in its further development. The OJS Network is part of SeDOA’s Community Support.

The activities of the OJS network aim to strengthen Diamond Open Access within the OJS community and to promote and disseminate Diamond Open Access publishing with OJS. SeDOA supports existing networks, stakeholders, and individual initiatives in implementing Diamond Open Access in the offerings and structures of their publication services. The resulting synergies contribute to the sustainable improvement of the quality of OJS-based services.

Offers from the OJS Network

Networking

Existing networks and initiatives are being more closely integrated. The OJS network makes it easier for participants and interested parties to stay informed about activities, developments, and news in the field of OJS. Our overview of German-speaking OJS communities provides a good starting point.

Exchange

The OJS network promotes continuous exchange within the OJS community. Network members support each other and provide mutual assistance in the further development of their services.

Visibility

Existing publication structures, services and activities will be made more publicly visible.

Strengthening Diamond Open Access

The OJS network supports Diamond Open Access publishing in OJS. The exchange of experience within the community regarding the implementation of Diamond Open Access standards plays a particularly important role in this.

Workshops, online events and other formats support collaborative work and strengthen Diamond Open Access in the OJS community.

The OJS network is a network by the community for the community.
