PKP is proud to share the Annual Report for 2024, covering the period from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025.
Compiling the annual report never fails to serve as a meaningful moment to pause, reflect, and take stock of what we’ve achieved and where we’re headed. This past year was no exception. The 2024 Annual Report reflects the strength, dedication, and diversity of the global community we’re privileged to serve, partner with, and learn from.
What’s Inside
This year’s report showcases the incredible reach and impact of PKP’s work:
- Over 52,000 journals now use OJS, up from 44,000 last year
- Our software is active in 161 countries and supports over 60 languages
- Major funding from Open Research Europe ($1.2M) and the ALMASI Project (€150K) is helping us accelerate development and infrastructure improvements
- Our partnership with the Open Book Collective is expanding support for Open Monograph Press (OMP)
These milestones reflect the collective power of our global community—developers, editors, librarians, funders, researchers, and volunteers—working together to advance open access and equity in scholarly communication.
Our Shared Values
The report is anchored around five key values that guide all our work:
- Community & Engagement
- Educational Initiatives
- Open Infrastructure
- Research & Advocacy
- Sustainability
Each section highlights how these values translate into action, from improving our multilingual resources to expanding training through PKP School and making long-term investments in accessibility, documentation, and infrastructure.
