A woman thoughtfully working on OJS software with a look of intrigue on her face. OJS logo is displayed, a simple logo with white text of the abbreviation and full name. PKP logo at the bottom right. Text reads user testing.

PKP invites user communities to test the usability of OJS for tasks and discussions as well as for multilingual form fields. Testing will run from September through November, 2024.

Call for User Testing for Tasks and Discussions

Join Our Usability Test for Tasks and Discussions Workflow!

We know how challenging it can be to manage tasks and checklists to keep a submission moving forward. Editorial staff need an efficient way to track assigned tasks, oversee progress, and ensure everything stays on course. That’s why we’ve developed two options to integrate task management directly into the workflow — and we’d love your input to help us choose the best one!

Usability tests will take place from September 23rd to October 4th, 2024. If you’re interested, please fill out the short questionnaire by September 13th, 2024, 12am ET.

During the one-hour session, you’ll be asked to complete tasks while sharing your screen with the PKP team and answering usability questions to gauge the intuitiveness of the proposed feature.

Your feedback will help us create a more seamless and effective experience for all users. We hope you’ll join us in making a difference!

Call for User Testing for Multilingual Form Fields

Help Shape the Future of OJS: Participate in Our Usability Test for Multilingual Form Fields!

Forms are a vital part of OJS, and many require input in multiple languages. We’re working to make this process smoother and more intuitive, ensuring you have clear guidance on each field’s purpose and importance. We’ve developed three alternative workflows for New Submission, Publication Data, and Settings, and we need your feedback to choose the best one.

Usability tests will take place from October 21st to November 8th, 2024. Each session will last an hour, during which you’ll complete tasks while sharing your screen with the PKP team and providing feedback on the intuitiveness of the proposed features.

If you’re interested in participating, please complete the short questionnaire by October 3rd, 2024, at 12 AM EST.

Your insights will play a crucial role in making OJS more inclusive for millions of users worldwide.

If you use assistive technology, we’ll get in touch to discuss your setup for the test.

UPDATE: PKP will provide support for Spanish and Portuguese speaking users who will take part in the user testing sessions.
