The “DOAJ Indexing for OJS Journals” webinar took place on May 24th, 2023, presented by the Public Knowledge Project.
The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) is extensive and diverse, indexing more than 19,000 open access journals in 133 countries and 80 languages. Besides diversity and discoverability, the benefits of DOAJ inclusion (discussed in a previous PKP post), include but are not limited to advancing journal reputation and ensuring adherence to scholarly publishing standards.
PKP and the DOAJ have been working together for a decade on making it easier to move information between OJS journals and the DOAJ, and the two organizations have an ongoing relationship built around supporting the community and global open access infrastructure.
PKP is pleased to share this webinar recording with the community in the hopes of:
- Sharing the DOAJ mission;
- Increasing awareness of the DOAJ application process and indexing criteria;
- Discussing how to represent and link to relevant information in OJS;
- Sharing insights to accelerate understanding of the DOAJ application processes;
- Discussing differences between basic inclusion (indexing) and the DOAJ Seal.
