We’re Hiring: Managing Director
Earlier this year, PKP Managing Director Kevin Stranack moved to Prince George, British Columbia, Canada – 770km due north of PKP’s administrative home at Simon Fraser University (SFU) Library in Burnaby (near Vancouver). While he’s leaving behind some big shoes to fill, we’re thrilled to report he’s not leaving PKP altogether. Here, from Kevin, is the scoop.
From Kevin Stranack, Managing Director, Public Knowledge Project and Head of Digital Publishing, SFU Library
The Public Knowledge Project and Simon Fraser University (SFU) Library invite applications for the position of Managing Director, Public Knowledge Project and Head, SFU Library Digital Publishing, located in Burnaby, BC. This full-time continuing position is responsible for managing both PKP operations and supporting SFU faculty, staff, and students as Head of the Digital Publishing division within the Library.
As the person leaving this position, I can assure you that it will be an extremely rewarding experience, an opportunity to advance your career, develop your expertise, and, most importantly, work with an amazing group of people. Simon Fraser University, “Canada’s Engaged University,” ranks as the country’s top comprehensive university, and is a supportive, progressive institution. And, of course, Vancouver is one of the most beautiful and livable cities in the world! Opportunities like this don’t come along very often, so I urge you to put your name forward.
I will continue to work with PKP on a part-time basis from my new home in Prince George, in northern British Columbia, to focus on some of my favourite projects, education and community building activities, as well as to provide some continuity as the new person transitions into this role.
You can learn more about this unique opportunity, and apply, here. Applications are due 4pm PDT on May 9, 2020.
