Health Science Theme Style Guide

September 4th, 2018 by  | 1 Comment

Earlier this year, we released the first in our series of new themes for OJS 3 — the Health Science theme. Using the contemporary and humanist typeface, Fira Sans, this theme was designed with cleanliness, simplicity and accessibility in mind.

Today, we’d like to share a new style guide we’ve written to help you make the best use of that theme. It includes descriptions of recommended image dimensions, best practices in navigation menu items and footer content, and more.

You can see the theme in action here.

If the Health Science theme isn’t available in your Theme drop down choices, you should be able to enable it from the Plugin Gallery. Check with your Site Administrator if you are having any problems finding it.

If you are interested in creating your own theme, be sure to check out our Theming Guide, which walks you through the process of creating a brand new theme (some technical experience required).

Please let us know if you implement the Health Science theme, or if you design your own — we’d love to see it, so drop a note in the Comments below!

Watch for the Classic theme, including its own style guide, coming out soon!

After I install this theme Plugin from System Plugins, this happened:

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘lib/pkp/classes/plugins/ThemePlugin.inc.php’ (include_path=’.:/srv/users/serverpilot/apps/ojs/public/classes:/srv/users/serverpilot/apps/ojs/public/pages:/srv/users/serverpilot/apps/ojs/public/lib/pkp:/srv/users/serverpilot/apps/ojs/public/lib/pkp/classes:/srv/users/serverpilot/apps/ojs/public/lib/pkp/pages:/srv/users/serverpilot/apps/ojs/public/lib/pkp/lib/adodb:/srv/users/serverpilot/apps/ojs/public/lib/pkp/lib/phputf8:/srv/users/serverpilot/apps/ojs/public/lib/pkp/lib/pqp/classes:/srv/users/serverpilot/apps/ojs/public/lib/pkp/lib/smarty:.:/opt/sp/php5.6/lib/php’) in /srv/users/serverpilot/apps/ojs/public/lib/pkp/includes/functions.inc.php on line 32

Then I can not use System Plugin any more, you must save me. Lol
