Better submission discovery and tracking for editors in OJS 3.1

By Nate Wright

OJS version 3.1 introduces improvements to the submissions list to help editors and journal managers quickly find and track submissions. These changes allow you to filter submissions by stage, status or section, and quickly search for a submission by title, author name or submission ID.

The video below provides a quick introduction to some of these changes.

The improvements in this version are inspired by community feedback and user experience testing with OJS. We will continue to introduce improvements to help editors manage their journals. Our current plans include adding more filters to help you find submissions, and allowing editors to take common actions — like assigning an editor — directly from the lists.

If you’re a journal editor or manager, what common actions would you like to be able to take directly from the submissions lists?
