PKP 2017 – Opening and Closing Keynotes and More Speakers Confirmed
We’re pleased to have confirmed our opening and closing keynote speakers for the Sixth International PKP Scholarly Publishing Conference, being held on August 2, 3, and 4 in Montreal.
Our open keynote will be Dr. Dominique Bérubé, Vice-President, Research Programs, at the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), Canada’s national social science and humanities funding agency, who will bring her unique perspective to issues of open access and national funding agencies.
In addition, our conference has the honour of being closed by an address from Dr. Jean-Claude Guédon, Professor at the University of Montreal in the Département de littérature comparée, and world-renowned pioneer in the open access movement.
We are thrilled to also welcome the following speakers: Micky Metts (Agaric), Kamran Naim (Stanford U), Charlotte Roh (U of San Francisco), and Ina Smith (Academy of Science of South Africa and DOAJ Ambassador), who will bring their expertise, thoughts, and experience around issues of publishing, technology, cooperatives, and more.
We’ll continue to send out updates as speaker confirmations come in, including members of the research panel and of a panel on publishing perspectives from global South.
Remember, the Call of Proposals is still open so there is still time to submit your lightning talk!
