Free Webinar: OA Journal Publishing: DOAJ Indexing and Best Practice

By Kevin Stranack

The latest webinar from the Library Publishing Coalition is OA Journal Publishing: DOAJ Indexing and Best Practice, featuring Judith Barnsby from the DOAJ.

The webinar will be of interest to anyone wanting to get their open access journal indexed by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and reviews the requirements for inclusion in DOAJ, and some best practice recommendations, including the criteria for the DOAJ Seal.

This is becoming increasingly important, as many organizations and funding agencies are now mandating that research is published in a journal included in DOAJ. A DOAJ listing is also a good way of demonstrating that your journal is reputable in a world of questionable journals and predatory practices.

Judith has over 20 years experience in the scholarly publishing industry, working for a range of non-profit society publishers and service providers. She has a keen interest in publishing standards and protocols, and has served on the board of the CLOCKSS preservation service. She is one of the editorial team at DOAJ responsible for overseeing the review of journals for the index.

This webinar was coordinated and sponsored by the Library Publishing Coalition’s Professional Development Committee. Upcoming webinars and recent recordings can be found at http://www.librarypublishing.org/resources/webinars.
