OJS Download

Do you want to install Open Journal Systems on your server? Installing this program will allow you to host journals for you and your colleagues. Open Journal Systems can be used on a web server that is serving other functions, and requires very little in the way of system requirements.

System Requirements

To run OJS 2.x, your web server will need:

  • PHP 4.2.x or later (including PHP 5.x) with MySQL or PostgreSQL support
  • A database server: MySQL 3.23 or later OR PostgreSQL 8.0 or later
  • UNIX-like OS recommended (such as Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, Mac OS X, etc.). OJS 2.0.2 and above supports Windows servers (including IIS).

If you do not understand these system requirements, consult your department’s technical administrator. If you are looking for OJS hosting support, PKP Publishing Services offers a full range of hosting and consultation services.

OJS 1.x

OJS 1.x contains a mild security flaw allowing readers to access the abstract, title, and authorship information of declined and unpublished submissions. If you use OJS 1.x, please apply this patch to correct the problem.

The OJS 1.x line is no longer supported and is not recommended for new installations. Users of OJS 1.x are encouraged to upgrade as soon as possible to the OJS 2.x line, as PKP will eventually drop support for the 1.x -> 2.x migration tools currently included with OJS 2.x.
