Scheduled Tasks, Conference Schedule, and Email Notification

Postby shannah78 » Fri Sep 28, 2007 1:49 pm

I am having trouble finding documentation on the scheduled tasks feature. Specifically, if I turn on the scheduled tasks cron job, how do I know which tasks it will be performing and when? How do these relate to the conference schedule?

Hi Steve,

There are two scheduled tasks implemented in OCS 2.0 -- if you're PHP-savvy, they're in classes/tasks. They are:
  • Open access notification; this is sent out to users who have signed up for an open access notification on the day that a new piece of content becomes open-access, in cases where delayed open access is used
  • Review reminder; this is sent to reviewers if they have been requested to perform a review and have not confirmed after a period of time, or if they have confirmed but not filed a review after a period of time.
