how to import old PDF issues to a new OJS instalation?

Postby ozp » Sun Sep 09, 2007 2:46 pm

Hello. We are setting up one jounral at my OJS site.

We have almost everything done but the old issues.

They are in PDF format and we dont know how to import (or insert) them.

If this is done by the XML plugin import, how this XML is done?
where goes the PDF files for the articles?

Is there a step-by step instructions of the hole process anywhere?

The Journal does not have any articles published at OJS

It has 16 issues made since 1999

Regards

Oliver

Hi Oliver,

The XML document format is described in plugins/importexport/native/native.dtd. If you don't have experience with XML, it may be easier to use the expedited article submission process; search this forum for "expedite" to find out more. (If you're using OJS 2.1.1, you'll probably have to apply the patch mentioned in those posts.)

ok, we are using the expedite way with the patch.
we are doing ok on that

We had some problems and I dont know if they are related to this or not:

http://revistas.redepsi.com.br/RBTCC/article/view/14

# About the author
# How to cite item
# Indexing metadata
# Print version
# Notify colleague
# Email the author

Those links are broken.

we took out the frame and inserted the navigation bar for better browsing, those problems were happening before that too

http://biblioteca.redepsi.com.br/record/view/137073
Here we can see the same record in a harvester.

Since the OAI is working I think the record data is ok, and this may be a bug or a system misconfiguration

Is this a known problem?

OZP,

If you are experiencing a 404 error page in the Reading Tools, you need to apply the patch at (http://pkp.sfu.ca/cvs/cvsweb.cgi/ojs2/pages/rt/RTHandler.inc.php.diff?r1=1.36;r2=1.37)
or configure the tool correctly, enabling the related items (view this topic)
