Italian Translation OCS2

Postby anna_marini » Tue Sep 04, 2007 6:32 am

Hi all,
we are completing the OCS2 Italian translation, but we encountered a little problem.

The Submission Preparation Checklist does not load the text in the language selected: it actually displays the following message

Code: Select all

and so on..

On the other hand, the Copyright Notice and Privacy Statement texts can't be visualized in Italian, despite the local.xml file being correct.
We had the same problem with the bullet points of the Submission Preparation Checklist and the Privacy Statement while translating OJS into Italian.

Hello Anna,

Alec may have a better solution, but my experience is that some of the fields are saved to the database after installation, especially the configuration ones, like those you describe.

I believe flushing the Template and DATa Cache as Administrator may fix your problem.

Regarding the missing key (##default.schedConfSettings.checklist.notPreviouslyPublished##) there may be a typo in the template page or the key does not exist in the locale.xml file.

Try searching for the key in the en_US/locale.xml, or enabling english and italian. If if the problem occurs with both languages it may be a typo in the template page.

Hi Anna,

Additionally, it may help to validate your locale XML just to be sure a typo hasn't been introduced. On a *NIX platform, you can use the "xmllint" tool, e.g.:

Code: Select all

xmllint --noout --valid locale/it_IT/locale.xml
If you're using Windows, several validating XML editors are available, e.g. XMLSpy.

The keys you mention as missing should be defined in the locale/it_IT/locale.xml locale file you're creating.
