how can I change the plugin to harvest modified dublin core

Postby jp.vitulli » Wed Mar 07, 2007 9:16 am

I can't find in the admin pages a way to change the plugin to use the OJS modified dublin core.
I have to write a new plugin to harvest qualified dublin core notices.
But I cant find the way to enable the plugin.

did I miss something ?

I am using the latest harvester2

thanks in advance

Hi jp,

The PKP Dublin Core Extender plugin can be enabled or disabled on the Administrator's "plugins" page. Once enabled, it will add a field to the administrator's archive edit form where you can choose the version of OJS being used.

Now, if I want to write my own plugin, what is the right way ?
I copied the entire plugins/shemas/dc directory into the plugins/generic and renamed it
Then, I renamed the files and classes to build a new one.
I added the new name in the registry/schemaMap.xml file.
I emptied the cache to be sure to have new pages but the new plugin doesn't show in the "new archive" admin page

Are there other things to add somewhere to make it be available ?

Regards.

Hi Jean-Pierre,

Those plugins implement alternative metadata schema to Dublin Core. When you add a repository that supports these schema, they'll be listed in the metadata format list.

I finally understood :-)
The oai server have to give the right metadataPrefix to let PKPHarvester enable the appropriate plugin.
Or in my case, I have to put in the plugin definition the good prefix to handle the data received. it's a kind of (non oai standard) xml stream.
I'll work in that new direction.
Thanks a lot.
