any problem with articles in PDF only?

Postby mmccallum » Thu Feb 22, 2007 10:08 pm

One more question I forgot to include in previous post. Most of the OJS journals are using webpage version of the article. We want to post PDFs only. Will this work ok? It would be ok to have a pre-view page with only the abstract and citations, but frankly, the whole thing is free so people previewing isn't saving anyone any real time! IF there is a good reason for not using pdf versions only, I'ld ove to know!

Hi Malcolm,

PDFs are fine -- a number of our users publish with PDF only. Just make sure that you've configured an external tool in to extract text from PDF files for indexing, otherwise full-text searches will not work. There are example configuration lines in the configuration file.
