User experience issue on articles without abstracts

Postby szmigieldesign » Fri Jul 18, 2014 1:28 am

during the OJS editorial training organized by my team, some users pointed out that not being able to click an article title in order to get to article page (in case of an article without abstract) was problematic. It was counter-intuitive since they first learned that article titles in TOC are clickable and were surprised that some were not.

Shouldn't it be unified?

You can actually get to an abstract-view by shortening the final text link (just remove the file id and leave the submission id). Yes, it looks kind of poor (there's no abstract after all...), but there's a title, and author (or authors), copyright information and... big, bad, full-text button - the most important element ;-)
