Our university IT folks strongly prefer Oracle over other dbms. I assume that there are OJS installations that use Oracle, but I'm wondering how difficult that is to set up. I'm not a technical person, but I need something to pass along to my IT folks.

Hi Richard,

The stack we use (e.g. ADODB for database abstraction) supports a number of DBs, including Oracle. Our SQL is written to support MySQL and PostgreSQL, and thus is fairly standard SQL. However, I'm not aware of anyone using Oracle, so you can expect to find a few SQL incompatibilities. We don't officially support Oracle, but if you do run into trouble, I can probably walk you through how to debug it. You'll need to have someone on hand who is able to work with the code, though.
