Postby makemywish » Wed Jan 15, 2014 1:03 pm

This entails all pages and will involve changing the layout of the journal (example moving navigation menus around, adding RSS feeds from the journal's blog etc). Could someone kindly explain step by step the order of files to that relate to customizing OJS templates. We are running the latest version of OJS (2.4.3).

I had a look at the technical reference and it suggests that the order is:

There are quite a few files and to my old eyes and brains it is becoming difficult to figure out where to start.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi makemywish,

For front-end changes, you'll mostly be working with the template files (in templates/ and lib/pkp/templates/). For the overall look, for example, try lib/pkp/templates/common/header.tpl. These are Smarty templates; you can check out the Smarty documentation for details.
