piwik install not working

Postby keir » Mon Nov 04, 2013 7:55 pm

I'm trying to install the analytics program piwik using the pkp piwik plugin.
I'm running version of Open Journals

The piwik plugin downloads as a tar.gz file.

If i try to install using the OJS GUI through plugin management selecting the tar.gz file from my
desktop machine piwik-0.2.26-plugin.tar.gz
The install fails with the error message "version.xml not found in plugin directory"

I also tried unpacking piwik-0.2.26-plugin.tar.gz
placing the files in the plugins directory and running php upgrade.php upgrade
but then the plugin doesn't show in the plugins list.

Googling I see others have managed an install piwik. So what are the tricks for new piwik plugin players?

Hi keir,

The piwik plugin is already included with recent releases of OJS; do you not see it in the Journal Manager's list of Generic plugins?

Piwik doesn't appear in the manager list however under Generic Plugins Piwik is listed and with the option to enable.
I've clicked enable and now I suppose its a matter of waiting to see if the visiting informatio becomes
apparent on the analytics page.

Thanks for your response.

Also, we know that the piwik plugin is developed from the phpmyvisites plugin. We are now installing this plugin, however, it has not not been worked also.

Would someone know how to installing it and make it works.

Thanks in advance!
