Missing images and style sheets

Postby dbd » Thu Nov 21, 2013 7:58 am

Since upgrading to, moving to a new server, and being new at OJS, with my job being to provide support, I'm having a problem I've not been able to figure out.

When a user is editing a submission, through:
Home > User > Editor > Submissions > #no > Editing

They are working with the layout, upload it, upload images and the style sheet. I can download them, so I believe they are there, but when we view the proof, the proof does not see the style sheet or the images.

Where are these files saved? How should they be reference in the in the Galley Format html file that is uploaded. Looking at the docs, it appeared there should be a reference link, but I'm not seeing it on the page I'm on?

Thanks for any help/pointing in the right direction.

Hi dbd,

When an HTML file is presented to the viewer, OJS will wrap it in <html><body> tags, including its own <head> tag to reference stylesheets. There is no need to refer to the stylesheet from your uploaded HTML. As for images, references to them from your HTML should refer to them by filename, without specifying a directory, e.g.:[code]<img src="myImage.png" ...></code]...and then the image should be uploaded with that filename exactly. This will cause OJS to rewrite references to that image with the appropriate URL to its own storage area.

If you're having trouble with these, look at the HTML source in the "proof galley" area to see how/if the CSS is being included and how image references are being rewritten.

With my Console debugger in Chrome on, when I go to /sectionEditor/proofGalley/ I am getting a jquery is not defined error -- where should jquery be defined at? I'm wondering if that is what is causing the issue?

side note: I think you are commenting on another thread about some errors I'm seeing in the error log, the debug code I pasted on that thread with the 404 was only for this page (proof gallery). I'm not seeing any other 404's anywhere else.
