Links from within abstracts not working

Postby dallibs » Thu Jun 13, 2013 9:56 am

Hi - We're having trouble with links from within abstracts not working. Any idea what might be going on? Here's an example:

http://ojs.library.dal.ca/nabokov/artic ... -6kiearans

In the html editor everything looks fine ...
<a href="http://etc.dal.ca/noj/articles/volume5_6/Nabokov.ttf" target="_blank">Vladimir Nabokov font -- Free download</a></p> <p>The installation is quick and simple. Once the font is installed in Windows, it will be available to your Office programs.</p> <p>Here is a <a href="http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access-help/install-a-new-font-on-your-computer-HA001094742.aspx" target="_blank">link to a Microsoft website</a> explaining how to install fonts on Windows operating systems.

I have noticed this on someone else's OJS as well (but of course I can't find the site at the moment)

Thanks for your help

- Geoff

Hi Geoff,

Check the allowed_html setting in config.inc.php; it looks like the HTML you're using is not allowed according to the rules defined there. (If you change the setting there and reload the abstract, the change should take effect immediately; no need e.g. to edit and re-save the affected abstracts.)

Our IT just solved this. Apparently href was not included in our config file.

Another issue when clicking on article name at TOC. The page that should display the abstract does not load, we got the following message.

Code: Select all

DB Error: Unknown column 'g.public_galley_id' in 'field list'

e.g., link.

We have OJS 2.4.0 upgraded from 2.3.8 with a LAMP enviroment.

Any idea?

Hi mendesrocha,

The public_galley_id column doesn't appear anywhere in the OJS 2.4.0 codebase -- the upgrade to 2.4.0 should have removed any references to it. Are you sure you're not including some old code in your new installation? (I'm thinking in particular about plugins/generic/xmlGalley/ArticleXMLGalleyDAO.inc.php and classes/article/ArticleGalleyDAO.inc.php.)

Hi Alec,

Thanks for your hint.

In fact, there were two mentions in plugins/generic/xmlGalley/ArticleXMLGalleyDAO.inc.php (around lines 53 and 77) to the public_galley_id collumn.

I deleted those 2 lines and abstract links are working now.
