Reload some templates

Postby vlilloh » Thu Nov 08, 2012 2:50 am

Is there a way to reload some fields with its corresponding texts in the translation files as the email templates?

For example, in the file /locale/es_ES/default.xml, I modified the texts default.journalSettings.forReaders, default.journalSettings.forAuthors and default.journalSettings.forLibrarians, and I would like all journals (more than 50) were affected by this change.

Hi vlillooh,

the changes you made in the XML files with the email templates are not automatically loaded by OJS. The easiest and fastest way to get the OJS default templates updated after you edited those XML files is to run "php upgrade.php upgrade" on the command line from your /tools directory.

However, after this upgrade will only write your changes into the database table "email_templates_default_data". To get the changes to take effect, it would also be necessary that the journal manager would reset the email templates in question to the default. If you have more than 50 journals, that would be a lot of work. It would probably be more efficient to design an update query in the MySQL database, writing the default data from "email_templates_default_data" into the table "email_templates_data". However, when you're doing something like that be sure to make a database backup first and make sure you're only overwriting the email templates that you want to update.

Best regards,
