Postby ojs_noob » Wed Feb 01, 2006 7:11 pm

Hi everybody

I have been asked to try using OJS for handling submission of abstracts online for one of my website. But i have not use PHP before. I have downloaded and extracted all the files from OJS 2.0.2-1 (.tar.gz). How should i get started now? I'm totally lost. Thanks in advance

Hi ojs_noob,

Installation instructions are available in docs/README. First, check to make sure your system meets the minimum requirements. Then start by extracting the OJS archive into a directory accessible by your web server, make sure the file permissions meet the requirements specified in docs/README, and point a web browser to the index.php script included in the OJS archive; you should be taken through the install process. Feel free to post here if you've got any specific questions.
