Information for Translators

Postby asmecher » Thu Oct 06, 2005 12:49 pm

OJS 2.x is designed for multilingual environments. Translating the software is a fairly straight-forward process, and is documented in the README file that ships with OJS.

Some approximate word counts for OJS 2.0.3 are:
  • Main locale file: 14,000 words
  • Plugin locale files: 1,000 words
  • Help files: 17,000 words
  • Email templates: 4,000 words

The Reading Tools may also require translating, but this is a much more involved process. It is acceptable to use the English reading tools for other locales.
