Does OJS anonymize the word-files so that the usual personal data is removed or should an editor do that before the file is sent to peer review? We've had some unexpected problems (not using the OJS-system yet) with curious reviewers using their detective-skills! ;-)

Hi gbnitram,

No, we don't currently have any automatic anonymization service, but several commercial applications are available to do this. We will additionally be adding support for XML-backed documents, which will effectively remove the need for external anonymization tools. If you're able to find an open-source tool that can strip metadata out of submission files (e.g. word documents), we can certainly look at coding some integration with it.
