Installation Problem

Postby mattdp » Fri Jun 15, 2007 6:04 am

Just unpacked OJS on a system running Fedora 6 and XAMPP.

On first attempt to run the installation page I get a memory error, which I track down on this forum and fix.

On second attempt I get this:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /opt/lampp/htdocs/ojs/index.php on line 18
I've tried turning off live errors and turning on error logging and then all I get is a blank screen. Any ideas?

Hi Matt,

Double-check your modification; I suspect it's causing the error message. I'd also suggest disabling Zend Optimizer in your php.ini file, as certain versions are buggy and cause memory errors with OJS. (The most recent release, 3.2.6, apparently works fine.)
