Install Problem

Postby MichaelJ » Sat Sep 30, 2006 6:05 am

I did a manual install sucessfully. I copied the sql code into PhPMyAdmin and exported a ojs.sql database. I uploaded this to the server in the default main ojs directory. I changed the with the database name, username and password. Does this have to be the same as given by the host server? Anyway, the error message I get when I try to login as administrator is:

DB Error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)

Hi Mike,

This is a PHP/MySQL configuration problem; make sure that the correct MySQL hostname is specified in your file.
