How to remove Salutation before Editor names

Postby dankomed » Tue Dec 31, 2013 12:43 pm

Hi,

I was wondering whether there is a way not to display the "Salutation" in front of the names of people in the Editorial team of the Journal.

I tried leaving the Salutation box empty, but people insert back their Salutation when they update their profiles.

Thanks

Hi dankomed,

Do you want to suppress it just in the editorial listing, or everywhere? If everywhere is OK, you can edit the getFullName function in lib/pkp/classes/user/PKPUser.inc.php.

In lib/pkp/classes/user/PKPUser.inc.php after the code:

Code: Select all

function getFullName($lastFirst = false) {

I deleted the line:

Code: Select all

$salutation = $this->getData('salutation');

Since my original goal was to have only names displayed without extra stuff around, I also removed the suffixes in getFullName:

Code: Select all

$suffix = $this->getData('suffix');

All works well.
