The default full-text indexing in OJS

Postby zain » Fri Dec 20, 2013 10:43 pm

Hi ,
Could I get an answer for the following questions?

I would like to know if the default full text indexing support multilanguage ?
If yes ,DO I need to have a stop-words file for every language I need to work with ?
The last one,what about the the following function in the file classes/search/ArticleSearch.inc.php ,Is it working on multiple languages ?

Code: Select all

function _parseQuery($query) {
      $count = preg_match_all('/(\+|\-|)("[^"]+"|\(|\)|[^\s\)]+)/', $query, $matches);
      $pos = 0;
      $keywords = ArticleSearch::_parseQueryInternal($matches[1], $matches[2], $pos, $count);
      return $keywords;

Thanks in advance,
Zain

Hi Zain,

Yes, full-text indexing is multilingual. However, there's only a single set of stopwords used -- it's in lib/pkp/registry/stopwords.txt.
