"Articles in Press"

Postby lschiff » Tue Jan 22, 2013 2:37 pm

We have a journal that needs to publish an "Articles in Press" series, which is for articles that have gone through peer review but which do not yet have a series they can be assigned to. We are thinking of supporting this by (mis)using the volume and issue numbering, and assigning these publications to Volume 0 Issue 0, but I'm wondering if others have handled this more elegantly.

Our journal also publishes articles in press. We just use issue with the title Articles in Press, with volume and issue numbers 0 and current year. I remove these "zeros" (i.e. issue data) from metadata sent to CrossRef for example. I set this issue as current one. Maybe it would be also suitable to change CURRENT header in the menu to IN PRESS then.

Thanks for this. We're hoping to avoid the "0" as we have some journals that actually use "O" for their Issue and Volume numbers, but it's good to hear of an example of how someone is doing this.
