OJS developer position

CeDiS is the competence center for E-Learning, E-Research and Multimedia at Freie Universität Berlin. It assists the university’s departments and institutions with consultancy services, central systems as well as customized solutions on all aspects related to technology-enhanced teaching and research. It also provides assistance and services for researchers and institutions around different aspects of electronic publishing and is involved in working parties and committees on the promotion of Open Access.

Together with the university libraries in Heidelberg and Konstanz CeDiS is involved in the project "Sustainable OJS infrastructure for electronic publishing in scholarly journals", that is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). One part of the project is the further development of the open source software „Open Journal Systems“ (OJS) according to the publishing requirements of OJS users in Germany.

For this two years project CeDiS is looking for a software developer. The experience with the web application development (possibly PHP, MySQL, Javascript, HTML, CSS, AJAX, git), Open Access or publishing in general, and some basic German knowledge are very welcome.
