Description James MacGregor 2010-07-12 19:24:18 PDT
OxS currently includes a number of manual ackowledgment emails (for example, acknowledging a completed review/proofreading/copyediting/etc.). Editors have to send these emails manually. I think the idea is that this offers the option for Editors to personalize the emails if need be, but in some cases this might add more work to a workflow than it is worth.

A possible option would be to allow Journal Manager to configure whether and which acknowledgment emails can be sent automatically upon completion of a task. This could be entirely optional -- that is, journals can still stick with the manual process if they want -- but could be enabled for all/any possible acknowledgment emails from the JM interface. Of course, email text could still be tweaked under Prepared Emails.
