Add openID support as an authentication scheme. From recent email conversations, this will probably necessitate an overhaul of the authentication framework. Some issues to keep in mind:

-- openID support would suffer from the same issues as LDAP support, ie. it would provide authentication but not authorization features, which is an issue where OJS is predominantly a role-based system. Again, this could potentially be resolved with further overall work.

-- support and ongoing maintenance may be significant. See http://tech.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=09/01/07/1958202 for discussion and some possible alternatives.

-- this might be suited as a way to get users signed up for notifications etc. ... in other words, could let users 'register' with the system in non-authorized role function, with the option to get bumped up at a later date.
