PKP Hires Director of Operations

The Public Knowledge Project (PKP) is thrilled to welcome back Kevin Stranack to the PKP leadership team. Kevin has been appointed the inaugural Director of Operations for the Public Knowledge Project in its recent designation as Simon Fraser Universityās newest Core Facility. Kevin comes to this position with 20 years of leadership in academic librarianship and scholarly communication, most recently as the University Librarian at the University of Northern British Columbia. He is no stranger to the PKP family. From 2006 to 2021, he was a member of theĀ PKP team, working on daily operations, strategic plans, community engagement, the founding of PKP School, and other initiatives.
Kevin holds a Masters in Library and Information Studies (UBC) as well as a Masters in Education (Regina), and is completing a Program in Business Leadership (Queensland). As Director of Operations of a SFU Core Facility, Kevin will report to the Vice President of Research and International. Beginning on June 13, 2022, when he begins as Operations Director, he will be responsible for managing all areas of PKPās operations including Research and Advocacy, Software Development, and Publishing Services.
