PKP Index Retiring as of January 1, 2022.

October 5th, 2021 by  | 2 Comments

We are retiring the PKP Index as of January 1, 2022. We are no longer accepting new registrations or submissions. The content that is in the Index will be kept as-is, and entirely available to harvest via OAI, until December 31 2021 and archived offline indefinitely by PKP.

Over the past six years we have seen the scholarly indexing environment change, in particular for Open Access journals and with the rise and spread of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB), and we feel that the original issues we were trying to address have been more successfully addressed by others.

The best resource available to understand how to increase the impact and readership of your journal is Getting Found, Staying Found, Increasing Impact. We also strongly recommend DOAJ and DOAB. DOAJ is the pre-eminent directory of Open Access journals and their contents, and is entirely searchable.

If you need any assistance or have any questions, feel free to contact us for help by posting your inquiry on the PKP Forum.
