A New Forum for PKP

March 9th, 2015 by  | No Comments

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve PKP’s technical infrastructure (such as moving to Git for version control and issue tracking), and in anticipation of the upcoming OJS 3.x line, we are pleased to announce our new support forum:

The new forum runs on the open source Discourse platform, used by a wide range of sites including Boing Boing and How-To Geek.

The forum will continue to be the central online space for the PKP community — to ask questions, answer the questions of their peers, showcase their accomplishments, discuss local projects, and meet others with similar interests.

Highlights of the new forum include easier registration and logging in (with the option to use your Twitter, Google, Facebook, or Github account), simplified categories, bookmarking, sharing, and tracking features, badges, an improved user interface design, and more.

The old forum (http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/) will be archived as a permanent historical knowledge base, but all new questions should start being directed to the new site now. We’ll continue to monitor questions on the old site for a few more weeks as everyone makes the transition, but we will end support there after March 30, 2015.

We hope to see you on the new forum soon!
