I was just try to edit templates/search/authorIndex.tpl
When I refresh that page in IE. It then completely gone.
I did try to "Clear Template Cache" but no helps.
I quite not familiar with Smarty (though ever heard of).
Can some body tell me how to recover that page?

I manually edit TPL file. Then the page was gone!!

Hi khun_panya,
Usually when OJS starts serving a blank page, it's because there was a typo in the template (or PHP code, if it has been changed). Try restoring the template to the stock version and re-introducing your changes one at a time; you can also try checking your server log to see if any more specific errors were logged.

Well, havn't come back for a long time.
Retoring original TPL files did fix the problem.
But what if I really want to edit TPL file?
I want to rearrange some page layout.
I've found that even I open TPL with vi and just save it, No changes.
The page goes blank too.
Is it about file timestamp?
What is the correct way to deep customize page layout?

PS. I have no permission to access server log.

I've found it!
The problem is that the temp directory for Smarty
(templates/t_cache, templates/t_compile, templates/t_config)
is not writable by web server.
After chmod them. It then works now.
