What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:
1. Search the forum

or from our Google Custom Search

searching the forum for said error.
2. Check the FAQ
to see if your question or error has already been resolved.
3. Post a question

When istalling OJS, I got the message:
A database error has occurred: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: NO)
Any comment would be very appreciated.
I had the same problem. I found that in installing ojs if I assigned any
other parameter than localhost for host, the ojs installer created an
error message saying that it was impossible to connect to the database (MySQL).
Please verify that your OJS database has been granted the appropriate permissions. For example:
- Code: Select all
CREATE DATABASE myojs2database;
GRANT ALL ON myojs2database TO myusername@myhostname IDENTIFIED BY 'mypassword';
Ensure that the hostname matches the login information given to the OJS installer.
Note that it's generally not a good policy to use root as your database user.
