What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

How to link between HTML docs in an issue

Postby arachne » Wed Dec 12, 2007 12:20 pm

Hi - several of my back issues have HTML docs that link to one another - how do I do that without loading the sidebar a second time into the page - if I use the full URL, that's what happens (so in essence the page with sidebar is loaded into the left-hand frame, so the sidebar shows twice).

i.e. I want to link our publishing guide to our bookstores guide - the publishing guide has a link to the bookstores doc but using the URL for the bookstore doc ("http://www.thirdspace.ca/journal/article/view/124/71") gives me that replication of the sidebar.

What I'd like is to have clean link between docs in the same issue, as well as links between docs in different issues. I tried the technical reference but I think my brain fried from marking and can't make it make sense. Help?

Hi Arachne,

You need to add target="_parent" into your link, e.g.:
Code: Select all
<a href="some-url-here" target="_parent">Link Here</a>
