Public access and payment

Postby namehta » Tue Oct 16, 2007 9:06 am

Hi,

I have created a journal which has public access to view abstracts. If an unregistered user wants to download the article, he should be sent to a payment page. Is there a hook that I can use to capture a request for download?

Hi Nirav,

I'd suggest having a look at the CVS version of OJS, which will be released as OJS 2.2 very soon. I don't recommend using it on a production system, although it is very close to release, but if it suits your needs you'll save a lot of custom coding by waiting for it to be completed. We're hoping to release it this month.

There's information on accessing CVS in docs/README-CVS of your current distribution.

Hi Alec,

We already have OJS installed on a server from the tarball. Can I just copy the payment modules separately from CVS into the old version and expect it to work?

Hi Nirav,

No, unfortunately -- an enormous amount of new code has gone into OJS 2.2, including a lot of support for the payment modules to hook into.
