Forum rules
What to do if you have a technical problem with OCS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved. Please note that this FAQ is OJS-centric, but most issues are applicable to both platforms.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OCS Conference Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OCS Development subforum.

multiple languages support?

Postby Seraph » Fri Jul 16, 2004 2:25 am

Just a simple question:

There will be an OCS version with multiple languages support like latest versions of OJS that allows users to choose beetween them?
(so that you only have to translate some .php files that contains all static text - like in OJS - instead of search in all the archives and loosing the multi-language capacity)

OCS will probably support multiple languages at some point, but not any time in the near future as our development efforts are currently focused on other projects.

We have recently started an internal project to develop exactly this (we need to have our conference site in at leat English, Spanish and Basque). But we don't have much time assigned to this project, so our plans are to have a working version around June 2005.

We will try to follow the development of the "official" OCS version and merge the changes in our version (we will be using subversion internally), so in theory you will be able to easily integrate this development back into the official OCS version.

We would like to use the software for a conference in Portuguese. How far are you along? Is the structure for translation ready?

Portuguese Translation

Postby ramon » Mon Apr 11, 2005 7:26 am

Dear OCS users,

OCS has already been translated to portuguese by CNEN. Unfortunately, we haven't updated our website yet with a download for it. We only have it on CD.

There is also no support for it either from CNEN or IBICT.

Thank you.
