Forum rules
What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

orphaned titles from import testing

Postby dps1 » Wed May 23, 2007 2:11 pm

I have been testing the XML import feature but now see that all my tested imports are clearly visible under "Browse by Title". How do I delete all these orphaned and erroneous entries? I have also been messing with creating new users but it appears that deleting the users doesn't completely remove the email addresses from the backend tables. I cannot add that email address once again because the system complains that the email is already in use. I do not have direct access to the MySQL tables because my OJS is hosted at SFU.

Hi dps1,

You can delete articles by sending them to the Archive (on the submission's Summary page, as Editor) then deleting them from the Archive (again, as Editor).

When you unenroll users from a journal, that account is not deleted; see, for example, http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1647 for some discussion of this.
