Forum rules
What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

What could be possible reasons for articles not being found in the archive (or under unassigned/in review, in editing), even though they are definitively in the database (I found them in the db tables articles and article files)?

Some of those articles can be accessed by entering the URL directly like /editor/submissionEditing/ID
some others can't even be access that way (I am ending up on the user home page of the editor), even though this article file has been published and is in the TOC, and the files are in the public folder.

All these older articles have been imported from OJS1.

Do the submission subfolders/files have to be present?
It seems my former technical person just moved over the public files, not the old submission files etc from the old site.

Hi Gunther,

There's a bug in OJS 2.1.1 that causes Declined submissions that have not yet been moved into the Archive to disappear from submission lists. Are the submissions you're referring to in this situation?

When the fix is in place, these submissions will reappear in the Editing queue.

No, this is something else, because these are PUBLISHED (i.e. not declined) articles. They were however imported from OJS1, so I don't know if anything went wrong here.
Is there any manual fix one could try, ie. editing a flag in the db directly? Or is the issue to complex that there is no work-around?
The big you describe above seems fixable by changing the status field from 1 to 4 in the articles table. But the issue I described doesn't respond to that fix..

Hi Gunther,

Could you double-check that these submissions have editors assigned to them? If you know the article IDs, you should be able to go directly to their summary pages by going to another article and then replacing the ID in the URL with the one you want to see.
