Removing unwanted emails

Are you an Editor, Author, or Journal Manager in need of help? Want to talk to us about workflow issues? This is your forum.

Forum rules
This forum is meant for general questions about the usability of OJS from an everyday user's perspective: journal managers, authors, and editors are welcome to post questions here, as are librarians and other support staff. We welcome general questions about the role of OJS and how the workflow works, as well as specific function- or user-related questions.

What to do if you have general, workflow or usability questions about OJS:

1. Read the documentation. We've written documentation to cover from OJS basics to system administration and code development, and we encourage you to read it.

2. take a look at the tutorials. We will continue to add tutorials covering OJS basics as time goes on.

3. Post a question. Questions are always welcome here, but if it's a technical question you should probably post to the OJS Technical Support subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Removing unwanted emails

How would we go about removing certain standard email messages we don´t need?

Unfortunately, our journal coordinator wants to translate their current offline method of publishing to the OJS method.

We are not that willing to change the system, but we have to ask....

Unfortunately, in the current version of OJS this would require custom changes to the system.

We are currently rewriting OJS from scratch, and the ability to selectively enable/disable emails will likely be included in this version.

Rewriting OJS

Postby ramon » Fri Oct 24, 2003 5:32 am

Since you´re rewriting the code you might want to check admin/editor/editor.php...

there is an error in the variable concatenation that prevented the navigation to work in Mozilla and Netscape and logged out in IE 6

this is what we did
Code: Select all
//$orig_link = "editor.php?id" . (isset($id) ? "=$editor_uid" : "");
$orig_link = "editor.php?id" . (isset($id) ."? =".$editor_uid." : ");

we only found this out because we have over 20 submissions and the navigation did not work in the admin section, but worked everywhere else...
