Automated harvesting?

Is this already possible in the latest release? If so, how? I couldnt find any info in that on the documention.

Hi Mika,

You can harvest all archives for new records using:

Code: Select all

php tools/harvest.php all from=last

the script simply quit while trying to execute.
$archiveDao =& DAORegistry::getDAO('ArchiveDAO');
in the harvest class constructor.

I don't know why.

I am using php 5.2 under windows xp

in fact, it seems that the load of PluginSettingsDAO fails.
what is the difference between the cli version and the web version ?

Hi JP,

Are you getting any error messages, either on the screen or in your log files? If a DAO is failing to load, it may indicate an out-of-memory problem (see php.ini's "memory_limit" directive, which should be at least 12M) or, if you've made modifications, a typo in the code.

no, there are absolutely no error messages.
it seems the script fails to connect to the database.
the host name, login and password are correct.
but the the DBConnection::connect() fails when attempting
$this->connected = @$this->dbconn->PConnect(...)

the web site works perfectly.

still trying...

I think the problem must be in the machine or the programs installed.
I'll check on another machine and tell you more.
