Forum rules
What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

links in Announcements?

Hiya - how can I put live links into Announcements? I tried a simple HTML link but it created a weird hybrid that sent me back to the homepage.

cheers,

on a related note, I would really like to make the links live in my temporary message I've posted on the 'Current' & 'Archive' pages so that people can find the issues on our old site easier while we get our old issues loaded up on the new site.

See here what I mean:

sorry for the non-PHP-coder Qs!

Hi Arachne,

To make a link active in the temporary message, simply use HTML tags in the template, e.g.:
Code: Select all
<a href="http://some-link-URL-here">Link label goes here</a>
Likewise, you should be able to put links into announcement bodies. (The announcement titles do not support HTML tags, however.) If you can describe what's happening in more detail, I might be able to suggest a fix.

Ok - now everything worked fine on the announcements, I must have done something wrong with the HTML.

The lesson here - don't leave out the last quote on your hrefs!

Thanks for the tip re the template - I was trying to put the href in the locale.xml key rather than the template itself.

cheers,
